TADERA's APC Kiosks provide smoother, more convenient process for passport control - increasing efficiency and international customer satisfaction.
TADERA’s AirportIQ Automated Passport Control Kiosks (APC Kiosks) are designed to expedite international passenger arrivals and minimize the time spent with CBP officers. They collect a passenger's passport, flight information, and declaration data; takes a photo and scans fingerprints; and then issues a receipt that can be verified by a US Customs and Border Protection Officer. The APC kiosks were developed as a joint venture with the Houston Airport System, and can be customized with each airport’s unique logo and color scheme.
Partnership with Department of Homeland Security
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) selected TADERA to provide a derivative of our Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks for registering low-risk non-citizens in the U.S. until their cases are adjudicated. The Compliance Assistance Reporting Terminal (CART) application will allow noncitizens to check in at TADERA kiosks located at one of over 200 ICE offices throughout the U.S. The kiosks will capture a noncitizen’s fingerprints and photograph and run a series of background checks at DHS to determine whether the individual needs the personal attention of an ICE officer or simply be allowed to schedule a follow up visit. The kiosk will print a receipt of the transaction, either directing them to proceed to the ICE officer or with the details of their next visit. By automating the check-in process, the CART solution offloads tasks from ICE resources, and increases the quality of noncitizen documentation, allowing for more accurate reporting.
The application provides a repeatable check-in process for immigrants via self-service kiosks which includes fingerprinting and photo ID verification along with a portal for authorities to review an individual’s criminal history record.
- Self-service Kiosk with a repeatable check-in process for aliens
- Communicating to users in multiple languages
- Capturing and verifying alien's identity through fingerprints
- Capturing a photograph to use in additional, future identity verification functionality as directed by DHS
- Conducting searches for any recent activity on the alien's criminal history record
- Portal for review and input of data
- Printing kiosk session completion documents
The pilot phase of the project began in early 2019, with TADERA implementing 10 kiosks over multiple ICE locations, and training ICE staff on basic kiosk operations and maintenance. The project’s end-state will consist of more than 300 kiosks implemented at over 200 ICE offices throughout the U.S.
