Enterprise Resource Planning in an Integrated System at Nashville International Airport

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) selected the team of TADERA and Crowe Horwath, LLC (TADERA/Crowe) to implement a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) to manage the Nashville International and John C. Tune Airports. The team implemented the AirportIQ Business & Revenue Manager (ABRM), AirportIQ Project Manager (APM) and AirportIQ Safety and Operations Compliance System (ASOCS), and financial accounting and reporting, accounts payable, purchasing and asset modules of the Microsoft Dynamics AX suite of ERP software. The integration between the AirportIQ products and Microsoft Dynamics AX provides the user with a comprehensive, single point-of-entry airport management solution.

Integrating AirportIQ and Microsoft Dynamics AX

TADERA served as the overall project manager for the MNAA ERP implementation project, with Crowe Horwath leading the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX. Staff from both TADERA and Crowe provided the implementation services and worked together to ensure proper integration of the software modules being used at MNAA. The joint efforts of TADERA, Crowe and the Airport staff enabled this project to be performed on time and within the project budget.

The team completed a seamless integration of the Dynamics AX General Ledger with AirportIQ Business Manager. General ledger account views enable validation of active accounts in the general ledger by ABRM, and views of open periods are used to validate that transactions are posted to only open periods. All ABRM billing and accounts receivable transactions are automatically posted to the Dynamics AX general ledger and cash management modules and users can drill back to the detailed ABRM transactions from the general ledger view of these transactions. Additionally, APM provides for maintaining detail project management and project cost data in the system, with integration to Dynamics AX accounts payable for processing payments to project vendors.

Executive Dashboard Content

TADERA assisted the Nashville staff in utilizing application data to create dashboard content as part of meeting reporting needs. TADERA relied on its extensive experience with Business intelligence tools to export information from the client’s database into applications where data models (i.e. agreement names, transactions from billing) are used to create statistical reporting for dashboards content. This content includes graphical representations of the statistical data.
